Windsor has hit Ontario's annual housing target. Here's what's getting built and where
Nearly three-quarters of the housing units built in Windsor since the city committed to the Ontario government-set housing target in 2022 are inside apartment buildings.
The majority of those new builds are going up in the east end, according to data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). The Forest Glade area alone accounts for a third of all new units built.
Home builders warn what's being constructed is not matching the needs of the community and may not be leading to more affordable units.
