Ranch Style Home – 1700-1825 Square Feet
Ranch homes, also known as “ramblers,” cover more space with a rectangular, elongated floor plan. Long hallways and rooms are set some distance from the living room; the ceilings are higher and the windows are large and numerous.
Ranch style house plans emphasize openness, with few interior walls and an efficient use of space. The one-storey plan, usually a low-pitched side-gable or hipped roof, with a front-facing cross gable. Large picture windows add beautiful effect, as are sliding glass doors leading to back patios.
From the foyer, columns announce the great room, highlighted by a cathedral ceiling, screened-porch access. Cathedral ceilings also grace the kitchen and breakfast area. In the back right corner, the master bedroom will surely impress.
Ranch homes are synonymous with laid-back living. They emphasize the family-friendly backyard, usually connected to the kitchen or dining area via a sliding glass door and flat patio. It’s hard to picture a ranch house without a barbecue grill out back, isn’t it?
