The company is unique in that it directly employs many of the trades people other contractors hire as “subs’ including electricians, plumbers, cabinet makers, flooring and trim carpenters, and painters.  When Cornerstone does employ subcontractors, many have been working for the company in excess of 10 years.  The benefit to this work philosophy is that Cornerstone has been able to maintain consistent quality and scheduling which has helped to earn their reputation as a premium builder.

The founder, Ben Klundert has been building quality homes for over twenty years, first as Ben Klundert and Son, and since 2001 as BK Cornerstone Design/Build Ltd.   Their extensive knowledge and dedication has earned BK Cornerstone recognition and respect within the construction industry in Windsor and Essex County.

The company goal is to provide clients with a building process that is both rewarding and interactive to ensure their new home captures their visions and expectations.  Our in-house Designer, Project Manager and Site Supervisors are there to ensure questions are answered and the home is completed as planned.

In 2006, BK Cornerstone became this area’s first EnergyStar® certified builder providing homeowners with a better built home that provides economical energy savings that are immediately attainable, quantifiable and third party certified.  Cornerstone is also one of the area’s few R-2000 certified builders having completed its most recent R-2000 project in October 2006.
