As Windsor and Essex County’s premier home builder, BK Cornerstone has been privileged to win numerous awards, from being enviornmentally responsible to excelling in the marketing of our company. We are honored to be a recipient of each of these awards and would like to thank our staff for all of their hardwork and our customers for their continued loyalty. Our trophy case would not be this full without all of your support.

Ontario Home Builder's Association 

In 2010, we were honoured to win the Provincial Award for Most Outstanding Production Built Home (One storey up to 1,900 SF). This award came after months of hard work and dedication and we would like to thank our staff for their tireless effort.

In 2006, we were a finalist in the Canadian Home Builders’ Association’s National SAM Awards for New Home Construction.

The Golden Hammers - Most Outstanding Environmentally Responsible Home Builder

In 2010, we were honoured once again for our dedication to the enviornment. We also took home the Most Outstanding Environmentally Responsible Home Builder in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Our environmentally conscious homes are proof that environmentally-friendly doesn’t have to be ugly. Extensive consideration was given to design, material selection, and construction detail. This home was developed to target individuals who value superior energy efficiency, air quality, the environment and their own health.Our homes have been featured on A-Channel news and CBC television Morning Show to outline the growing value and importance of energy efficiency and environmentally sound building.  

Special environmental features include hydronic in-floor heat, dual flush toilets, solar attic vents, rain water collection system, drain water heat recovery, particulate micro filter, water purification system, extreme levels of insulation, paint and lacquers with no VOCs, solar hot water tank storage, solar electricity storage, and locally manufactured interlocking brick driveway and patio.

In our enviornmentally friendly homes, comfort is still a focus. Comfort features include granite counters, security system tied to sump pump, home theatre package including surround sound, CAD5 computer networking packages, and a drip irrigation system tied to the cistern collecting rain water.

The Golden Hammers - Single Detached Home Awards

In 2009, we also took home an award for the Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (2,200-3,200 SF). 

In 2009, we were honoured to receive a Golden Hammer Award for the Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (1,500-2,200 SF).

In 2008, we won Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (Under 1,500 SF). At only 1,217 sqft this home feels much larger than its footprint and is beautiful inside and out. This home has a open-concept layout which is perfect for entertaining and everyday living. Cathedral ceilings and oversized windows are also featured.

The basement also includes oversized windows which flood the area with natural light. A natural gas fireplace with slate insert and hearth gives an appealing, warm atmosphere.

In 2005, we won Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (2,200 to 3,200 SF)

In 2005, we took home Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (under 1,500 SF)

In 2004, we took home Most Outstanding Single Detached Home (under 1,500 SF). This is a beautiful ranch with a 1,200 sqft garage. The great room opens up to kitchen with oak shaker doors, large island, and granite counters. There is an octagon-shaped formal dining area.  Private master with patio access and ensuite bath with whirlpool & ceramic steam shower. Unique flagstone and 6” oak plank flooring, solid oak doors, and 6” oak plank trim complete the country atmosphere.

The Golden Hammers - Marketing Awards

Our team of dedicated employees is committed to producing innovative and unique marketing materials. We have been recognized numerous times over the years for our marketing efforts:

- In 2009, we took home the Golden Hammer Award for Most Outstanding Print Ad.

- In 2007, our team took home the Golden Hammer Award for Most Outstanding Media Campaign.

- In 2007, we also won Most Outstanding Project Signage & Logo.

- In 2004, we won Most Outstanding Web Site, Most Outstanding Drop Mailer, and Most Outstanding Corporate Brochure.
